Mission

We are looking for an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to support engineering activities on Oil & Gas, offshore and industrial projects.

The engineer will be responsible for the design, specification, review and coordination of instrumentation systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements, applicable standards and client specifications.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and review instrumentation engineering documentation.

  • Prepare and review:

    • Instrument datasheets

    • Instrument index

    • I/O lists

    • Instrument hook-up drawings

    • Loop diagrams

    • Cause & Effect diagrams

    • Control narratives

    • Cable schedules

    • Junction box schedules

    • Instrument installation details

  • Specify and select field instruments such as:

    • Pressure transmitters

    • Temperature instruments

    • Flowmeters

    • Level instruments

    • Control valves

    • On/Off valves

    • Analyzers

    • Fire & Gas detectors

  • Participate in the design and review of control and safety systems, including:

    • DCS

    • PLC

    • SIS / ESD

    • Fire & Gas systems

  • Review vendor technical offers and participate in technical bid evaluations.

  • Review vendor documentation and ensure compliance with project specifications.

  • Participate in instrumentation sizing and technical calculations.

  • Interface with process, electrical, piping, mechanical and safety disciplines.

  • Support preparation and review of P&IDs from an instrumentation perspective.

  • Participate in HAZOP, SIL and technical review meetings where required.

  • Support FAT, SAT, commissioning and start-up activities.

  • Provide technical support during construction and installation phases.

  • Review instrumentation installation and ensure compliance with engineering documentation.

  • Coordinate technical interfaces with EPC contractors, vendors and clients.

Profile

  • Master’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Automation, Control Systems Engineering or equivalent.

  • Typically 5+ years of experience in instrumentation engineering.

  • Previous experience in Oil & Gas, offshore, petrochemical, LNG or energy projects is highly appreciated.

  • Good understanding of instrumentation design, control systems and industrial communication networks.

  • Experience working within multidisciplinary EPC environments is an advantage.

Technical Skills

Good knowledge of:

  • Instrumentation design and specification

  • Control valves and actuators

  • DCS / PLC / SIS architectures

  • Fire & Gas systems

  • Instrument loops

  • Hazardous area requirements

  • SIL / functional safety principles

  • Industrial communication protocols

Experience with tools such as:

  • SPI / SmartPlant Instrumentation / Hexagon Instrumentation

  • AVEVA Engineering

  • AutoCAD

  • Excel-based engineering databases

Knowledge of relevant standards such as:

  • IEC

  • ISA

  • IEC 61508 / IEC 61511

  • IEC 60079 / ATEX

  • API standards

  • Client and project-specific specifications

Languages

  • Fluent professional English required.

  • French is an advantage.

  • Ability to work within international and multidisciplinary teams.
